Sharon Louise Young never believed her children would be abducted. When it happened, she discovered there were no systems in place to help recover her children or any of the thousands of children that are missing.

In 1992, she formed a group of parents who also had their children abducted to look for ways to improve Hawaii's recovery system. After she met attorney Pam Ferguson-Brey they worked together to establish the Missing Children Center of Hawaii in 1995. Their work has recovered hundreds of children in Hawaii. With this organization she has and continues to conduct talks with law enforcement groups, provide support to recover missing children and help pass legislation to help the families of missing children.

She is a graduate of Punahou School and Boston University and has been a financial professional for over 30 years.
